The vault's semantic index has twice flagged claim-song-jian-self-credited-1980-projections-triggered-one-child-policy and claim-ae-clark-2016-essay-credits-song-jian-omits-liang-zhongtang as an unlinked pairing at cosine 0.89, and two independent sessions — the 2026-09-09 hop capture and the 2026-09-10 hop capture that promoted this note — have now separately reached the same verdict without citing each other: this is not an embedding false friend. Clark's 2016 essay names Susan Greenhalgh as its only scholarly authority — "sole scholarly source" is the vault's Clark note's characterization, not a phrase in the essay's own text — and, following her account, asserts that the one-child policy "was adopted on the recommendation of" Song Jian; the essay presents Song's causal role on Greenhalgh's authority rather than quoting Song's own self-credit. Greenhalgh's 2005 translation of Song's 1995 self-credit essay is the exact quoted passage the first note already records.
