• Did Pontryagin's antisemitism and Soviet gatekeeping reputation shape the West's reception of his 1956 maximum principle?

• Pontryagin's maximum principle reached Western growth economics within a year of translation — about sixteen years before his antisemitism became visible in the West

• Pontryagin's own communist orthodoxy, not Western antipathy toward him, limited the maximum principle's domestic Soviet economic uptake

• Isaacs's recorded regret in Pesch & Plail's 'missed opportunities' survey is over dismissing his own 'tenet of transition' — not the 1963 Pontryagin near-miss

• Fel'dbaum and Lerner's engineering focus on linear optimal control directly triggered Pontryagin's generalization into the maximum principle

• Does any record independent of Isaacs's own 1965 preface corroborate the 'few days' margin by which he says he missed Pontryagin's book?

• A direct, unconditional discrete-time analogue of Pontryagin's maximum principle does not exist in general — the maximization condition can fail without added convexity

• Rufus Isaacs's RAND research is credited with precursors of the maximum principle five years before Pontryagin — and RAND itself is an unrecognized bridge between the vault's Nash and Blackwell notes

• Rufus Isaacs's first RAND paper (1951) already contained precursors of the maximum principle, dynamic programming, and backward analysis — five years before Pontryagin's 1956 announcement

• Does Pontryagin's 1956 maximum-principle announcement genuinely predate Kelley (1960) as an independent Cold War discovery, and did Boltyanskii/Gamkrelidze/Mishchenko's 1956 work already contain the co-state/adjoint backward-gradient equation?
