Per historian Petr Blažek's account of the StB's own file, the priest who conducted Jan Patočka's funeral, František Jedlička, was himself a longtime secret StB collaborator under the cover name "Adam," specifically tasked with the funeral as part of Akce Dědek. Jedlička coordinated directly with the Patočka family — who knew him personally through his parish — to hold the funeral within three days and without church music, and was compensated afterward: "As a reward for the funeral, Adam then received one thousand crowns."

This is a distinct mechanism from the helicopter-and-motorcycle disruption recorded separately: not external interference at the funeral's edges, but an StB asset embedded inside the family's own trusted circle, arranging the funeral's terms from within before the state disrupted it from without.
