LEGO named its Mindstorms robotics kits after Papert's 1980 book Mindstorms

The LEGO Group named its Mindstorms line of programmable robotics kits in recognition of Seymour Papert's 1980 book Mindstorms: Children, Computers, and Powerful Ideas, per the MIT News obituary (Tier 2). This is an unusually direct case of a consumer product named for a theoretical work: the book argued that children learn most powerfully by building (claim-papert-constructionism-inverts-instructionism), and Papert collaborated with LEGO on the constructionist toolkit that carried the name.
