Iranologist and author of Burzōy's Voyage to India and the Origin of the Book of Kalīlah wa Dimnah (Royal Asiatic Society Prize Publication Fund vol. XXIII, 1990) — the standard modern scholarly monograph on the historicity of Borzuya's mission and the textual history of the lost Pahlavi translation underlying Kalila wa-Dimna.
