Google Squared
An "experimental search tool that gathers facts from the Web and presents them in an organized collection," launched publicly by Google in 2009, named in a 2010 AOL Inc. press release as an internal-startup-team project Jeff Reynar co-founded and led at Google.
First encountered by the vault as a naming puzzle: Reynar's own 2026 retrospective never mentions "Google Squared" by name, and the 2010 press release that independently corroborates his Google-era career never mentions "DAFFIE." Whether Google Squared was DAFFIE's public successor, a rename, or a separate project sharing an owner is unresolved. Stub only — stamping first_seen now since it can't be backfilled later; watching whether the relationship to DAFFIE gets resolved.
