Loren R. Graham

Historian of Soviet and Russian science (MIT/Harvard) and co-author, with Irina Dezhina, of Science in the New Russia: Crisis, Aid, Reform (Indiana University Press, 2008) — the book Vitaly Pronskikh names as the "dominant account" of the post-Soviet scientific exodus, under which the earliest émigrés were disproportionately the scientific elite. The vault has confirmed the book's existence and general framing via the publisher's page, but has not yet read Graham & Dezhina's own argument; the "elite left first" characterization currently rests only on Pronskikh's paraphrase of it, tracked as an open verification at question-soviet-emigre-career-premium-corroboration.
