Michael Strevens

Philosopher of science at New York University, known for work on explanation, probability, and the social structure of scientific inquiry, including The Knowledge Machine (2020). His 2003 paper "The Role of the Priority Rule in Science" gives an economic, mechanism-design account of why science awards all credit to the first discoverer.
