Sebastian De Haro
Dutch philosopher of physics at the Institute for Theoretical Physics, University of Amsterdam, working on background-independence, quantum gravity, and the foundations of quantum information in black hole physics. He matters to this vault as a recurring figure across two independent clusters: co-author (with Luka Vinck) of the 2026 paper testing Edward Witten's background-independence claim for the CLPW algebra, and co-author (with Aude Corbeel) of a separate 2026 review arguing quantum-information approaches to the black hole information paradox sidestep earlier philosophical objections to using "information" in black hole physics. The two papers may be more connected than co-authorship alone suggests — the Corbeel & De Haro paper footnotes "De Haro et al. (2026, Section 5)" for a fuller treatment of information's semantic/physical role in quantum gravity, plausibly the same Vinck & De Haro paper already in the vault, though this has not been directly confirmed against that paper's own text (see the open cross-check noted in claim-corbeel-de-haro-2026-black-hole-central-dogma-is-unproven-modelling-assumption's source capture).

Log
- 2026-10-21: Page created at promotion of the Corbeel & De Haro black-hole-information capture — the first vault entity page for De Haro, who by this point recurs across two independent papers/clusters (background-independence and black hole information paradox) and clearly has separate standing beyond co-authorship of either single paper.
- 2026-10-22: A corroboration check for arXiv:2610.28185 found no independent author group has yet engaged with the Corbeel & De Haro review — the cap discussed above remains undischarged. The same check surfaced a third De Haro paper not previously on this page, "Holography as an Information Principle in Quantum Gravity" (De Haro, Cinti & Corbeel, arXiv:2608.26282), which cites Corbeel & De Haro (2026) but shares two of its three authors with it — not independent corroboration, per the single-source cap's own rule, but a third node in the De Haro/Corbeel cluster worth knowing about. See question-corroborate-corbeel-de-haro-2026-arxiv-2610-28185-single-source-cap.
