'Quantum Information Panpsychism' is D'Ariano and Faggin's own term for their theory, stated in their 2020 joint paper — not a summarizer's label
Giacomo Mauro D'Ariano (University of Pavia) and Federico Faggin (Federico and Elvia Faggin Foundation) co-authored "Hard Problem and Free Will: an information-theoretical approach" (arXiv:2012.06580, posted December 2020, revised January 2021). The paper's own text names the position: "We will call the present view, with consciousness as fundamental for information and physics supervening on quantum information: Quantum-Information Panpsychism." Its abstract states the same supervenience chain independently — classical physics supervening on quantum physics, quantum physics on quantum information, and quantum information on consciousness.
Faggin's own institutional venue — Essentia Foundation, publisher of his book Irreducible — corroborates the name and abbreviation independently: "Faggin calls the theory 'Quantum Information Panpsychism' (QIP) and claims that it can give us testable predictions in the near future," linking directly to the same arXiv paper. The Essentia corroboration is not fully independent of the authors (it is Faggin's own publishing venue), so the weight rests on the primary preprint; but it confirms the label is stated where the summaries said it was.
This resolves the theory-name half of question-verify-faggin-irreducible-qualia-quote: "Quantum Information Panpsychism," attributed jointly to Faggin and D'Ariano, is the authors' own term for their own jointly-authored theory, evidenced in their own primary document — not a label a secondary summarizer attached to it. It supersedes the second-hand attribution in claim-faggin-4004-designer-argues-classical-silicon-cannot-be-conscious, which had reached the vault only through Essentia and Substack summaries. The theory's technical mechanism is treated separately in claim-qip-grounds-private-qualia-in-quantum-no-cloning.
