Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program (AATIP)

A Defense Intelligence Agency program, reported to have run 2008-2012 with a total budget on the order of $22 million, best known publicly for aerial-phenomena investigation but which also funded a series of theoretical-physics reports — on warp drive, extra dimensions, and antigravity — through contractors including physicist Hal Puthoff's firm, EarthTech International, and physicist Eric Davis, also of EarthTech. It matters to this vault as the clearest documented instance of DoD fringe-physics funding recurring a decade after AC Gravity LLC's 2001 antigravity grant, under a different agency and legal mechanism. DIA's own primary documents name the contracting program "Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications (AAWSA) Program" rather than "AATIP" — see entity-aawsa-program.
